Walking Update

Here are some more videos of Austin walking. It finally let me upload it. Of course now that I can post this, I need to video tape more.

This video is another really short one, and not the best quality, but if you listen closely, you can hear him say "bonk" when he falls! Pretty darn cute!!

It seems like he has really "taken off" with the walking thing just today. He walks pretty much everywhere...forget crawling...he has moved on! He walked from the living room to his bedroom today, and has now figured out how to turn while he is walking. It is so amazing watching him learn to do this, and seeing how quickly he is figuring it all out.

Memorial Day

Every year on Memorial Day, Justin's family (extended family and all) gets together to clean off the headstones of family members that have passed on. This year was extra special for his family because they moved his dad up to Bountiful from Nevada. We had a little ceremony to rededicate the burial site. It started pouring rain right before, but it was still a nice, special moment for his family, despite us all huddling under umbrellas.

Afterwards, all of the relatives went over to Justin's mom's house for lunch. It was fun to get to see everyone and visit for a little bit. The only thing that could have made the day better was a little sunshine!

Baby Steps

Austin took his first step on April 30th. He has been "running" along the furniture for what seems like a long time now. He would even stand there not holding on to anything, act like he was about to walk, then chicken out.

He finally realized that it wasn't so scary and started walking last week. Last Tuesday he started walking between things, then on Wednesday he just took off. He does still likes to crawl because it is much faster for him.

We are so proud of our little guy. The "stiff leg" walk is just about the cutest thing ever. I love how you can tell when he is tired because he gets a lot more wobbly!

I have been trying all day to upload videos so that I can post this. It finally let me upload this video. I know it is really short, and not the best, but it is the only one I can get to upload. I will try again tomorrow!

The Best Mother's Day Present!

AUSTIN FINALLY SAID "MA MA"!!!!!!

I have been trying to get him to say it for several months now, and all along Justin has been saying that he was saving it for Mother's Day! He has said "Ma", and what sounded like "Mom" a few times this week, but would say it once and I couldn't get him to repeat it.


When he woke up this morning, he just wanted to snuggle...which made my day right there. Then he looked at me, took his binkie out, and said "Ma ma ma ma". What a great day. And now, if I ask him to say it, he will!


I am so happy to be his mom! I love this kid SO much!! He really is the cutest kid EVER!!

Spring is finally here!

Today was an absolutely gorgeous day! It was such a welcome thing, considering we woke up to this Thursday morning:

I have been waiting for beautiful weather for a while now...anxious to be able to take my little boy outside and let him truly enjoy everything around him.

So, after church today we went to my mother-in-law's house for dinner. It was so nice outside, we couldn't resist letting Austin have his first experience on a swing. (Thanks to Kennadie for sharing her swing with Austin!)

Austin loved it! He was laughing for a while...of course not when I was trying to get a video of it, though!






They have the cutest little bench, so I had to get a picture of Austin sitting on it.

We got this little slide to keep in our backyard. This was his first try on it...he wasn't quite sure what to think!

More Random Pictures

These are just some random pictures from the last month or so. I absolutely love this first one of Austin. I don't really know why I like it so much since he has food all over his face. I just think it is really cute!

Bed Head!!

This one just makes me laugh. He will probably hate me someday for posting this on the blog, but for now he can't stop me. He has started "hiding" when he needs to take care of his "business," and his favorite place to do this seems to be under his highchair. In this picture he was working so hard he had to brace himself by holding onto the highchair. (He is also spitting up.) Poor thing!

Mmmm!

I have needed to update the blog for awhile now, and when I finally got around to looking at the pictures I have to post, Austin is eating in pretty much all of them. I guess I need to be better about taking more pictures. But, I guess that is a big part of his little life right now!


Austin loves beans...especially black beans. The first time he tried them, we were at Chili's. He ate ALL of the beans that came with Justin's meal. He was literally shoveling them into his mouth, and saying"MMMM!!!" with each mouthful! We got a good laugh out of him being so cute about it!

He has also discovered dirt. This was after I found him treating himself to some dirt out of the plant in our front room! Of course the first thing I did was tell Justin to get the camera! And really, how do you get mad at this??

It is getting a lot harder to get a really good picture of him because once he sees the camera, he high tails it over to try to get it! So, I have a lot of pictures that look like this:
