Say What?

Austin has not been sleeping very well lately. Needless to say, I am past the point of jumping out of bed the second he whimpers. At about 1: 30 AM Friday morning, he started crying. I layed there for a second wishing he would just go back to sleep. He didn't. I got up as he started crying (almost in a yelling fashion), "MaMa! MaMa! MaMa, DaDa! MaMa!" Okay...I'm on my way. Then I hear this: "MaMa! I say Waa Waa!" The little stinker sure is catching on to the communication thing really quickly. If only it weren't in the middle of the night!

Cheeeese!

Austin loves the camera lately. When he sees it, he says "One, two, three, CHEESE!" It is really cute, even though the pictures don't always turn out so cute with a cheesin' face boy!

Kangaroo Zoo

Monday night we went to Kangaroo Zoo for my niece, Kennadie's, birthday party. Kangaroo Zoo is a big play place full of inflatable toys to play on. There were a few of them that were just for kids 4 and under.

Austin thought they were great... until we took him on the big toys. Then there was no stopping the kid.

We all had so much fun. Austin was running around the place like he owned it...he even broke a sweat playing so hard. He even ate pizza, which he has never eaten before. It's amazing what he will do when other kids are around. We will definitely have to go back there again.

Play Time

We have just been hanging out around the house pretty much for the last couple weeks. Austin has been finding lots of fun things to do. Like...

finding new ways to play with old toys,

helping Mom cook,

playing while Mom does laundry,

and finding new places to hide.

Pumpkin Time

A couple weeks ago we went to the pumpkin patch. It is so much more fun to have Austin be able to enjoy all the fun decorations and activities this year. His favorite word lately has been "chugga". Pretty much anything that moves (cars, trucks, trains, etc) is a "chugga!" At the pumpkin patch, Austin was riding in the wagon. When Justin walked away to get a pumpkin, Austin stood up, grabbed the handle, and yelled "Go, Chugga!"

Then, he decided he wanted to see what this was really all about. He had a hard time keeping his balance in the field...but enjoyed getting a little dirt on himself!

He is really trying to be so much more independent (too bad for him though...Mom's not ready to let go quite yet!) He then decided he wanted to pull the wagon by himself...not an easy task on a dirt path with a bunch of pumpkins weighing it down.

So, Dad came to the rescue!

We had a great time picking out our pumpkins, despite the cold weather. Austin loves to look at them still, and says "pun-kin" every time he sees one.

Just Peachy

Earlier this month, I was going crazy canning. I canned 44 jars of homemade spaghetti sauce, 28 jars of peaches, and 14 jars of pears. It was by far not the highlight of the month for me, but now it is done, and we have some food storage to show for it!

So, while I made a sticky mess of my kitchen, Austin played in the fruit boxes! It was too cute to pass up the photo op. So, here he is, my own little "Utah Fruit."

The Candy Man

We took a tour of the Sweet's candy factory last week. Austin did amazingly well. I was a little nervous about him having to keep the "candy maker hat" on, but once they started giving him samples of candy...all was good! At the end of the tour, they gave each person a bag of taffy. He thought that was great (even though I would only let him hold it).

He looked so darn cute in the little hat..how could I resist such a cute picture of my little guy?

Gardner Village

We also made a trip over to Gardner Village to let the kids see the witches they have out right now. I was very surprised that Austin was not scared of them, he would just go right up to them. The only hard part was getting him to sit still long enough to take his picture.

He has also started saying "cheese" when I go to take his picture! Here he is very excitedly saying "cheese!"

The Lewis'

We also made it over to visit our old Bishop and his wife from our U of U ward years ago. I actually hadn't seen him since Katie's wedding. It was really neat to get to visit with them, and introduce all the kids to them. Truly, the most amazing couple...and a great Bishop!

Fabuloso Friday

Before Katie and Trever moved away, I convinced them to let me watch their three kids so that they could go on a date. We had a lot of fun (even though I was WORN OUT by the end of the night! Definitely not ready for 4 kids of my own!) I was making homemade pizza for us, so I let the girls make their own little pizzas too. I did manage to get a picture of the finished product. I tasted very good too!Then the kids all played hard, and finished the night off with popsicles on the back porch!

Fun on the Farm

We had a week packed full of fun with Katie and the girls before they moved away. We went to Wheeler Farm again to feed the ducks, and look at all the animals.

We have a lot of fun at the farm. Austin loves seeing all the animals, and making all the noises back at them.

Spoiled Rotten

A couple weeks ago, I sent Justin to Denver to go to a Denver Broncos game. He and his brother Jason got to go together. Their seats were on the 25 yard line, 11 rows up from the field. (I was making up for missed holiday and birthday gifts!!) Here are a few pics from Justin's adventure!
