Real Salt Lake Soccer Game

Justin got tickets to the Real game from Jason. Austin was so excited to go to the "soccer game." We walked around a little outside before the game started, and saw this beauty...

Nothing like a real race car for our Lightning McQueen fanatic. The little stinker wouldn't look at the camera though!
It was a really good game (even better since our team won!) A little ways into he game, Austin looked at us and said "My turn to play soccer game!" He was dying to get down there on the filed and play with the guys!

The Drive-In

Justin finally talked me into going to the drive-in. (We had been before, but never with Austin....so I was a little nervous!) We loaded up the car with snacks, fresh popped popcorn, blankets, pillows, and the air mattress. One of the major perks of the drive in is the double feature. We went and saw "Up" and "The Proposal."
Austin was fascinated by the fact that he got to lay down and watch a "show" in the back of the car. I was very surprised that he lasted through the whole first movie. Then, we couldn't get him to fall asleep. So, I decided that I had had enough of him screaming over the movie (I'm sure the people around us had had enough too!), and decided that we would forget the second movie and head home.
As soon as we got the car back together and Austin in his car seat, he was asleep. So, Justin and I got to watch "The Proposal" together while Austin slept soundly in his car seat. It was a very fun little outing...I just wish you could go without being out until 1 in the morning!

Where have I been?

So, you may be wondering where I have been for the last two months. Or why the sudden blog-a-thon to play catch up (take a look...I back-dated a bunch!). Well, let me just give you a little run down of my life over the last two months!

I have spent a LOT of time on the couch....

a pretty significant amount of time hanging my head over the porcelain king...
a little time at the University of Utah Hospital....

and a good bit of time at Jordan Valley Hospital.

"Why?" you ask....

because of this:

Baby #2...expected arrival in December!!

Austin's "motorcycle"

For Austin's birthday, we got him a tricycle. He calls it his "motorcycle." Cute little guy! He hasn't figured out how to make it move yet, but he sure loves it!

(Next step...get rid of the binky. We are working on it!)

Austin turns 2!

On Austin's birthday I took him to Wheeler Farm. He LOVES looking at all the animals and tractors!
Since it was his BIG day, we went on a tractor-drawn wagon ride! He loved it, and was so excited to be riding the "tractor."

That night, we decided to take Austin out for a special dinner. I gave him the choice of beans or pizza (two of his favorite things that we don't go out to get that often). He chose "beans!" So, we headed to Cafe Rio with Jason, Jenn, and their kids for a celebration dinner!

After dinner, we went to Jason and Jenn's house for cake. (Austin got his very own little cake, the rest of us got cupcakes!) He did a great job blowing out his candles.

May

The highlight of May for us was our trip to Houston. We were able to plan a trip to Texas in order to attend my mom's and sister's graduation from graduate school!
Sarah, Me, Mom, James, Erin, and Shannon
Sarah, Me, Shannon, James, and Erin
Uncle Donnie, Mom, Shannon, and Uncle Mike
(It was especially nice to get to see Donnie and David. I had not seen them since before Justin and I got married...so it was nice to have them get to meet my little family!)

We were able to spend one day with all of my mom's family at my grandparent's home!
Sarah was kind enough to take Austin swimming. He didn't want to get out of the pool, even though his lips were purple and he was shivering!

Justin was able to go golfing one day with my uncles, step dad, and brother. Luckily for him, it was a low humidity, cool Houston day!

When we got back in town, it was time to do some serious yard work. Lucky for us, we have a cute little helper!
