Catch up time
Shannon is town right now, so Justin and I took advantage of having a babysitter here and went to dinner and a movie for my birthday. I had a really hard time leaving him for that long, but it was good practice since I had to work a few nights later. Needless to say, a made it through my first shift back at work...after several tears getting me there.
At our last doctor's appointment (July 17th), Austin weighed in at 11 pounds. This is just a picture to show how big he has gotten. He is very long...about ready to bust out of the cradle. If only I could bear the thought of him not sleeping right next to me.
Bath time is still a favorite for this little guy. He is very much a creature of habit already. He eats, gets his bath, and goes to bed. This HAS to be done every night, and he is usually asleep by 10 PM.
These other pictures are just some that I thought were really sweet. He is such a beautiful little boy. I tell him all the time that there is nothing wrong with being a "pretty boy" or a "momma's boy."

What a week!
Wednesday brought us our first tastes of having a sick child. Austin is usually a very happy little guy. Wednesday he began to be very fussy, stopped eating well, then began to scream whenever he was awake. A trip to the doctor and 2 long days later, he is finally feeling better. The doctor said that it was probably a virus, so we just had to tough it out until he got better. We were a little shocked when they weighed him on Thursday...he now weighs 10 pounds 3 ounces. He is still cuter than ever...even when he doesn't feel good! I will put more pictures up later. He just woke up and is calling for me right now!
Austin Michael
My mom was able to come and stay with us for almost a month. She was an amazing help to me, and made the adjustment to motherhood a little bit easier...until she had to go home. Austin absolutely loved Grandma (or is it "Gram Cracka"?). He smiled and talked to her more than he has for either me or Justin. We all miss her already...especially her little"darlin'."
We blessed Austin in church last Sunday. It was quite an event, with all of Justin's family, my parents, and a long time family friend and his children. We took up 4 whole pews in the chapel. There were 5 baby blessings that day...so Austin will have lots of little friends his age. After the blessing, we came back to our house for a luncheon. It was a little chaotic, with close to 50 people in my home, half of them little kids. Needless to say, I get slightly (ha ha) stressed with kids running all over my house. Overall things went very well, and everything turned out very nicely.
