The Texas Crew

The end of July brought us a house full of visitors. My Mom, step-dad, sister, and step brother were able to come visit us fro two weeks. It was so nice to get to see them all, have someone to entertain Austin, and give myself a reason to go do a lot of the things I have been wanting to go do with Austin!

On the 24th of July, we laid low and hung out at home. We had saved half of our fireworks from the 4th, and Justin lit them off for us.

We went to a Salt Lake Bees game one night. It was a lot of fun, even though it was insanely hot even in the shade. (Heat doesn't work well with me right now. People were wondering what was up with the crazy lady splashing her face and fanning herself off in the bathroom! Hey- at least I didn't puke!)

Not even a slightly flattering picture of me....but proof that I was there!

Austin was really cute. He kept yelling to the players...things like "Run faster guys!" Too bad they couldn't hear him. (Family night=$3 tickets in the nosebleeds!)

July

The beginning of July was pretty uneventful for us. Here are a couple random pictures that I thought were too cute to pass up!

Can you tell they like each other?
In the middle of July, Justin went with the young men to Zion's. The day they left, Austin was convinced he was going with them. He packed his little bag with all of his toy tools, grabbed a baggy full of snacks, climbed in the truck, took his shoes off, and buckled himself in the front seat. Seriously...he did it all on his own!! It was so cute and so sad at the same time. Luckily he dealt better with them leaving then I thought he would! This picture is of him wearing Daddy's hat before they left for camp. I know it is a little blurry, but I couldn't resist it!

Austin also developed a cute little twang this month. It cracks us up. I need to get it on video, but he isn't the easiest kid to film. His best twangy words are red, help, and hat!

Austin LOVES birthdays! So, he was so excited to get to celebrate mine...since birthday means birthday cake!

I got a special birthday surprise....Austin became "Super Austin!"

I love how when he says "Super Austin" it sounds like "Super Awesome!:

Fourth of July

Every year we go up to Bountiful to watch the fireworks with Justin's family. They do their big show on the 3rd. So, we headed up there for a fun night filled with family and fireworks! Little kids always love the glow in the dark stuff, and Aunt Jeri was nice enough to buy Austin a light saber thing! (So just for that she gets to be in a movie on my blog! And yes, Austin has a "leash" on...I wasn't about to risk losing him in that mass of people!)
The fireworks were great, as usual. I wish that I could tell you this picture is of Austin being excited to watch the fireworks, but I am pretty sure it is just pure fascination with his light saber!

On the Fourth of July we stuck closer to home, and went to the Western Stampede Rodeo here in West Jordan. We convinced Justin's mom, Jason, Jenn, and their family to come along! It was pretty fun...except for having to wrangle a 2 year old the whole time!

Overall, we had a very enjoyable holiday. We were able to spend time with each other and remember how truly blessed we are to live in this country!
