Austin's 15 month stats

Austin had his 15-month check-up last week. Here are the official stats:

Height: 31 inches (75th%)

Weight:22 lbs 8 oz (25th%)

The doctor said that he is doing perfectly, to be patient with his "toddler-like" eating habits (which can be SOOO frustrating some days!), was impressed with how mobile he is, and everything he can do, and was AMAZED at how much he talks. So, although I know this may totally bore some of you, I am going to go ahead and document some things for my own record!

He is such a fun, happy, loving little boy! We are so blessed to have him in our home, and can't imagine life without him! Oh, Austin, I love you!

Our Temple

The Bountiful Temple is our special temple. It is were Justin and I were married 5 years ago. A couple Sundays ago, we went to walk around the temple grounds after Sunday dinner.

State Fair

I love going to the state fair. I was so excited to get to take Austin, and let him see all the animals. ( He is on a "cow" kick right now!) We even talked Sarah into coming a long for the fun!

We spent most of our time wandering around the exhibits. Austin had a great time looking at all the animals. He pet a piglet (almost stuck his finger up the poor pigs nostril), and grabbed a goat's ear. We saw lots of horses and cows...which are always my favorite.

They had a rodeo ( I know...nothing compares to the Houston rodeo...man do I miss going to that every year!), so we went to watch that for a while. The rodeo clown started shooting t-shirts to the crowd and one came right to me and Austin. I was so excited to win something. Then I unrolled the shirt, and it says "Coors Rodeo" on it! Yeah for us...a beer shirt! Just what we want to be wearing around! Oh well!

One of my favorite parts of the fair is getting a funnel cake. I was so excited to eat one. Then, after standing in line for about 20 minutes, I realized that is actually sounded really disgusting to me...something about all the grease and fat. So we walked out of the line...when we were only 5 people away from funnel cake heaven!

I had the camera with me the whole time, but was not very good about taking pictures. So, as we were leaving the fair, I realized that I needed to snap a few more pictures to document our fun.

Surprise Visitors

We got a surprise phone call a couple weeks ago from my great-aunt and uncle. They were going to be in Salt Lake for a couple hours, and wanted to visit us. They had flown in to Salt Lake for a 40th anniversary trip to Yellowstone. We were able to visit with them for about an hour, before the headed off to the airport for their flight home to Rochester, NY. Sarah was even able to came up from BYU to visit with us all. It was fun to have them here, and to be able to show off my cute little guy to them. (I hadn't seen them since I was 5 or 6!) It was a wonderful surprise visit with family!

Silly Boy!

This little guy LOVES shoes lately. He always tries to put Justin's shoes on, but they are a little heavy for him to walk in. So, when Sarah was at our house, he found a pair of hers that he could easily get on and walk around in.

City Park

I have been trying to be a little more adventurous, and find new, fun things to do with Austin. It has really helped to have Katie and her girls around to play with.


We decided to take the kids to the park, and headed over to the city park. I was amazed at how nice, and fun, it was. It was a really big park, full of stuff to play in/on. They even have a great area for smaller kids. The kids all loved it. Unfortunately, we went in the heat of the afternoon, so we didn't stay very long. I will definitely be taking Austin back to this park...I'll just make sure it's not 100 degrees outside when we go!

Popsicle

Austin has had a bad cold the last couple of weeks. In an attempt to get more fluids in him, I gave him a popsicle. Little mister independent insisted on feeding the whole thing to himself. I was very impressed at how well he did.

He couldn't have been any happier. He just sat in his high chair and chowed it.

He even got all the little pieces that had fallen off the stick!

Swimming

Since summer is quickly coming to an end, we decided to FINALLY take Austin to the neighborhood pool for the first time. We went a couple weeks ago for family night. It turned out to be really nice, and we were the only ones there.

My little boy likes to think that he is all grown up. He liked walking by himself in the kiddie pool, even though he had a hard time keeping his balance in the water. He only had a few face plants into the water.

We even ventured into the big pool for a while. He really liked it...so much he kept trying to climb out of the little pool to get back to the big one.

We had a fun little family outing. We may even have to go another time or two before the pool closes for the year.
